Faith and the Spirit

"He said to her, 'Daughter, you faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from you suffering.' " - Mark 5: 34

Sometimes we may ask, especially during our times of suffering and difficulties: what is faith? Where can I get back my faith?

Faith, as all of us might know, comes from God through the Holy Spirit. We are not just merely a container of Holy Spirit where the Spirit comes and fill us like a fuel tank. But rather, the Spirit moves through us, through our actions and our works of faith. The work of faith that I am talking about is not something big like going for missionary work in Africa, spreading the gospel to the natives. No! Rather, it's through our daily actions and works such as a warm smile to the janitor auntie in our colleges, universities or workplace, or even lending your ears to those around you that are in deep need of it.

It is through such small actions that allows the Spirit to work through us, to touch souls around us. And it is through this, the Spirit brings us another precious gift from God: our faith.

When the faith is in us, our past sins that we are so shameful of, the brokenness that it brings, will all be healed by our loving saviour Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

When the faith is in us, there is one truth that is revealed to us: we are loved. And that truth alone is so powerful that I believe it can pull us through all the challenges and trials in our life, knowing that we are not, and never will be alone.
